Fitness for work

Just as an elite athlete would be assessed after injury prior to returning to full training or competition, workers returning from injury should similarly be assessed to ensure that that they are capable of safely returning to the workplace without risk of aggravation or reinjury.

It is difficult to make good decisions about fitness for work without all the right information at hand. During an Employ Health Fitness for Work assessment, our experienced workplace physiotherapists complete a functional capacity evaluation to ensure the worker’s ability to meet the critical demands of their job.

“We leverage our detailed knowledge of your workplace to evaluate whether an employee has the capacity to perform their work without risk to themselves or other employees.”

Proactive Risk Management

Periodic fitness for work assessments form an important part of a comprehensive health risk management strategy. Systematically using these assessments to ensure each worker continues to maintain the ability to safely perform the demands of their role will prevent injury and associated injury costs. Fitness for work assessments are an increasingly beneficial strategy to manage an aging and unhealthy workforce.
